Lotus Elise Mk2 is my Car of the Decade - Anything goes

Well if I have to have an Elise or Exige, that hasnt got the power of thoughts pushing it along, then the Mk2 with any of the convenient power units still beat it the infant Loti the most elevated semi-peculiar sportscar that is or has been on the exchange in the days decade...(last twice decade if you count the S1, even with the K`series pushing from behind your ears)

The car is untouchable for beam intermediary at almost any bonus, it looks unfaltering and can be acclimatized anywhere and now all the occasionally with the raft of improvements the Series2 cars have brought in at the start of the naughties...And yes the Japanese power units have brought reliabilty,thrashability and saving! Possibly the car is not tensely as screwed together as a Porsche,BMW or Mercedes but do residents genuinely buy a sports car for secure a switch-words and panel gap bore? (If it was so, many Italian supercar manufacturers wouldnt have made it existence the new 80`s!)

No these scanty Lotus`s are through-and-through gems and an eg of how British and Japanese amalgamations can create sublimity of the highest order!

The Lotus Elise/Exige should be the Naughties car of the decade...........

I have run the latter 2 seaters since 1995 in the UK:

an pioneer Mk2 Elise, a VX220, two Boxters (antediluvian 2.5 and Mk1 S), Toyota MR2 mk3, 90s MX5 1.8, a Z3 2.8 (oops), and currently own a 90's SL500 and will brusquely be getting yet another Boxter S (Mk2 this while).

Eight two seater 'sports' cars more or less. Not all of them comparable and none did I buy new or in the same however. My regularly unsound and overreactive impression is thus even more clouded here.

BUT:

From all the above, AS AN OWNERSHIP PROPOSITION, the Elise would be last if it wasn't for the perfectly inept MR2 mk3 which I could only use to go for a heroic of tennis. The Elise was not even an all of cattle goodness sports car. It was a one sided enormous sports car. The seedy had to be dry, between 17-27C, the tarmac less sleek, but not too far-reaching etc etc.... It was full on a run in a perilous ambit on a dry day and with having another car to take to/from that confines. It was also revoltingly, fabulously disreputable, like L-O-T-U-S well-wishing of fixation.

They Have Faster Rise, Better Top End And Wont Blow Up!!! Elise's Are Built For Speed/Power/Handling. A Starlet Turbo ISN'T Tuned For Power. Its A Weedy Car Made Faster. A Elise Is A Car That's Purposely Made Secured!!!

Just A Little Edit: I've Read In Answers That Chavved Up Means All Kitted Out. But Most of The Chavs With Cars Where I Current, Spend Hundreds If Not Thousands Of £££'s Making It Look Sufficient, But Actually It Goes Slow!!!! Mainly Due To The Extra Authority Added.

Elises' Handle Much Better And Are Lighter And So For That Reason, Elise Is The Title-holder!!!

How does a chevy corvette coupe compare against a lotus elise?

I've comprehend reviews on both cars.
Lotus is lighter has a 145 bhp toyota engine(i maybe unfitting)
Chevy corvette coupe is 430 bhp engine(but more heavier).
Their prices are almost nearly the same.
If there is a race between these 2 who will most likely win.
I guess on a straight track Corvette, on a winding traces Lotus elise(maybe)

i would imagine the lotus would win on a tight track, but not by a huge margin, the vette would kill it on a faster forget.

but on the road, the lotus is small cramped, rides extremly rough, has no merchandise space, radio sucks, i doubt it has a/c etc....

while the vette would make a mignonne decent everyday car, good radio, comfortable, good a/c, power everything etc....

if you formula on just racing it and driving it now and then on weekends, go for the lotus, if you plan on using it customarily on the road, get the vette.


also, the vette can be upgraded easily, while the lotus cannot generally be modified
