Is buying a used Saab 9-7X right now a good choice?L?

Looking at buying a 07 Saab 9-7x with low miles. What if GM sells Saab? How will that any way you look at it become operative the value of my car? Also, how are Saab's in terms of costs of repair?

Of all Saab's, this car will be the least artificial by a GM sale. As XC states correctly, the warranty and service will still be in effect. As he also states, parts are from the Chevrolet Trailblazer programme so that is a non issue.

Since the car is already a year old, it has already lost a lot of value. Saabs do not maintain value well, so the sales should not absolutely impact it since the car is not worth much anyway (compared to new).

The Saab 9-7x is not broken out in repair books because not enough of them were sold. You have to look at sister cars like the Buick Rendezvous and Chevrolet Trailblazer to get a less ill idea of reliability. The Chevrolet Trailblazer for the 2007 and 2008 scale model years have turned out to be okay cars as has the 2007 Buick (it was discontinued after 2007). If looking at Consumer Reports, they are commonplace (Chevy) to above average (Buick) in reliability with the only problem spot being corps hardware. JD Power also puts it at about average. So in GM terms, these are not bad cars.

Saab repairs can be valuable, but on this model in particular, you have a lot more free reign on where to get them fixed. The engines for admonition are standard Chevrolet engines where the car is built in Ohio, so just about any Chevrolet dealership should be delighted to work on it if the Saab dealer is way out of wack on the hourly labor rate. Of practice, ask a Chevrolet dealership before buying the car to make sure they would be okay with bewitching business from a Saab dealership. Since they will be in competition when Chevy is sold shortly, they possibly will not have a problem doing that.

Oh by the way, why is it "mostly GM" and not all GM? Most of us are saying that because we realize while the parts are all from GM, the engineering of the car's modifications all came from the engineers in Sweden. Yes, they are GM personnel but their way of operating is different. Probably why all their cars are at least average in reliability while the same still cannot be said by the other divisions of GM.

I have a 2008 Saab 9-7x Aero (6.0L V8) and wanted to get a dual blow kit for it. Does anyone know of one? I think this model is very similar to the Trailblazer SS - will those fit? Thanks!

Umm, it IS a Trailblazer SS. With a Saab switch on it. Therefore a Trailblazer Exhaust will fit just fine.

A 2006 9-7x decent became available to me in such a way that I could get it for about $15,000 to $17,000 before taxes and such. I wouldn't ordinarily foster the thought of buying used or buying the 9-7x/Envoy/Dog Blazer but I have reasons for considering this one. The asking price is $18,995. It has 18,000 miles on it but no sailing or parking sensors. I know it's just a rebadged GMC Envoy but I have been in dreadful need of a bigger car lately since I move fairly often. I just need the shipment space (though navigation would normally be required). Gas is not an issue.

I know it's not the same Saab we've all grown to proclivity so what are the thoughts on this particular vehicle?
No, no, no, no! I'm never giving up that Aero! My father got it for me a few months before he passed so that'll be incited until the wheels fall off.

And give up your '05 Aero!? You're nuts!! Haha, no upright kidding I understand the need for more room. Meh, I'm neutral on the 9-7x I assume. On one hand I hate it because it's one of those cars where GM cheaped out and just threw some Saab badges on it. Yeah, it's got some of the Saab quirks guts like the ignition between the seats and the swivel cup holder, and a couple material upgrades from it's other GM siblings. On the other turn over I sort of like it because it's the best looking variant of the Trailblazer/Ambassador/Ascender crew and has an upgraded suspension. I have not driven one myself but I hear it's a undisturbed and comfy cruiser. I think what might seem like a good idea for your desideratum to move lots of stuff right now might make you kick yourself later. My aunt had an Audi A4 that she loved and wanted some more latitude so she upgraded to an Acura MDX. She absolutely hates that car; it's slow and handles like a runabout. She's going back to Audi when her lease is up in January. Have you thought about a 9-5 wagon? It has 73 cubic feet of freight space compared to 80 in the 9-7x with the seats folded down. And 37 vs. 40 with the seats up. You could in all likelihood get an Aero wagon for the same price as a 9-7x now and you'd retain the fun-factor. Or if banknotes isn't an issue, why not just rent an SUV/Van/Truck when you're moving? Okay, contrite I'm trying to talk you out of it, but I hope I was helpful, haha. Good good fortune.
