How is the gas milage in a 96-98 Nissan Pathfinder? Is it an complete good vehicle? Im interestred in getting one in about three-four months, and I'm just doing some digging on them. Serious feedback only please. Thank you.

Let me delineate you something about 98 nissan pathfinder. believe me I drove it for 8 years now. It gets good gas mileage in street , the gas consumption is pretty bad in stop and go busy city traffic. the gas employment in that car is very sensitive to outside factors. like tires, air filters... etc. It once is a good buy. It will run forever if you make sure you do the regular maintenance. a full tank will usually get you from 260-310 with 19 gallons of gas. My best gas mileage when mine was perfectly tuned up with lot of street miles was 335 miles for the full tank. It gets about 20 miles per gallon on road and about 15-16 per gallon in city with moderate traffic.

You deep down need two vehicles for that. One for work and one for family. If one breaks down you can temporarily do understudy duty till you get it back up again.

Looking to buy one or the other, a 1996 through 2000, populace tell me nissan pathfinder is better, want to know why these models are better than the ford migrant.

The Nissan is raise because:

-more reliable
-holds its value better
-put together better - higher calibre materials
-better motor, unless the Ford has a V8
-better looks
-more intelligent off road if needed - better handler on road
-the whole Firestone Disaster w/ Explorers

To be fair, the Ford has some advantages:

-cheaper to repair
-great deal of parts
-same model year cheaper vs pathfinder
-better straight profile/highway ride
-roomier
-V8 offered
-more towing capacity
