What states is the Mercury Mariner Hybrid available in?

I combustible in illinois but none of the local dealers seem to have it.

They should be convenient in all states, but California emissions states probably have first dibs on them. I understand I have them at the dealership I work at in Maryland.

Is the Mercury Mariner Hybrid a car worth looking at? If so, why?

We're looking to get a new car, and we're in effect interested in buying a hybrid. The Mariner seems to be priced right, and I like what I'm hearing out of Ford.

The Mercury Mariner Hybrid is a richness version of the Ford Escape Hybrid.

Emissions are far cleaner on the Hybrid Mariner than the regular Mariner. (Note that the Hybrid Mariner is only on tap as a 4WD model.) Chances are that as the luxury model, the hybrid system may be tweaked for more power (higher HP/climb) rather than fuel economy.

if you are going for savings rather than vehicle appointments, I might offer looking at a Ford Escape Hybrid in the FWD option, with a $2600 tax credit and EPA MPG of 36/31 bishopric/highway.


Ford's hybrid system was so similar to that of Toyota's THS, that Ford is paying Toyota licensing fees. (Toyota has since upgraded to using the THS-II, aka "Hybrid Synergy Control", on all its hybrids starting with the 2004 model year.)

It's absolutely pretty good, the engine is fairly decent sized for the measurements of the SUV. And under heavyish acceleration you're using the gasoline engine anyways.
