Jeep Wrangler?

I'm looking into buying a Jeep Wrangler and was wondering if i could have some feedback from erstwhile owners?

I adoration mine but I wouldn't own it if I was going to use the back seat for people or kids (unless you get a new 2007 prototype.. which are a lot bigger). Mine is a second vehicle and it is a lot of fun. There is a lot of wind noise if you use the agree top on the highways. They are great in the snow and great for the summer with the top off.... however, you cannot get the softtop up very fast. You could do what I did and buy a weekly vehicle and a used jeep for fun. I watched and found a pretty decent deal for a 1998. It has 125,000 miles but a gracious used one will last for two or three hundred thousand miles. They are east to replace society parts and things so if one has a busted body part you can get it cheaper and if you are handy at all you can swop the body parts (fenders, bumpers, mirrors, etc.)

1988 Jeep Wrangler shuts down when key is released from start position?

I have an 88 Jeep Wrangler. When the key is turned into the start site the engine will start. As soon as the key is released into the on position the engine will closed up down. Electrical power is still available. It will stay running as long as the key remains in the start place. Could this be the ignition module?
I have tried swapping the ignition on the steering stake with no luck. Is there another ignition switch in the system?

Shift ign to on. Check with test light for power at the ign switch terminal that feeds ignition. Sounds as if no power getting to ignition system.

Will a Jeep Wrangler front seat fit into a 1997 Jeep Cherokee?

I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee with a disciplined driver's side front seat. I cannot find a replacement. What I do find is plenty of Jeep Wrangler replacement seats for the same year. Will the Wrangler bum fit my 1997 Jeep Cherokee?

I vacillate it. The wrangler seats are different if i remember correctly. The Cherokee is more a people themselves car while the wrangler is supposed to be for off roading. I think the wrangler seat is different.

If all else fails upright walk into the repair dept. at the jeep Chrysler dealer and ask...
