Any opinons on the Ford Escape hybrid from people who drive it?

I positively want to buy the Ford Escape Hybrid in the fall when I finally give up on my gas-guzzling Jeep. I was just looking for honest opinions from people who drive it. Is it what you expected? What could be better? Thanks!

I don't own one, but my in-laws do and they were legitimate in town with it so my husband and I got a chance to spend a lot of time in it. They've had it about a year now and like it a lot. Their miles per gallon is about the same as I get in my midget sedan (there's a graph you can display on the console that tells you what mpg you're getting as you go; I reflection that was interesting to see). One thing they mentioned on this trip was when they got stuck in above on the freeway they didn't use any gas idling, since it could run off the battery--something I didn't think about.

I'm sensible of getting a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid. I currently have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo and have tainted the alternator, starter, shocks, brakes, and thermostat myself. Can I make the same repairs on the Escape Hybrid? Are they as pliant to work on as the normal Ford Escape?

according to the federal Magnuson-Moss Assurance Act, you have certain rights to perform routine maintenance yourself on your own vehicle, allowing that you keep exact and accurate records (receipts, logbook of maintenance, etc.), without voiding your primary manufacturer warranty.

This is assuming you don't cause any damage to the vehicle in the approach or as a result of that maintenance, of course.

Beyond that, you are in murky waters replacing anything beyond your own oil, oil and air filters, restriction pads, shocks, and tire rotations.
