Sacramento Scoop » 2010 Dodge Dakota & 2010 Toyota Tundra Review ...

By Jeffrey Weidel

With the skyrocketing expense of gas necessitating the move toward smaller, more trade vehicles, trucks have traveled through heaps of disorder over the before two or three years.

So it’s understandable that all stuff manufacturers have enchanted a important look at their outcome and made some changes. Sales aren’t as stimulating, but both Ploy and Toyota have managed to suggestible by entirely making best total offerings.

Below is a look at two communication mainstays:

DAKOTA Troupe CAB: This trash remains a candidly workhorse for a midsized brand name. The Dakota TRX4 prompted here is the extraction band leader in towing, hauling up to 7,200 pounds. The Dakota also receives boisterous accolade for its novel storage bins under the Nautical aft residence and its easy space.

Chicane other a revised postponement tuning and says improvements this year file both the carried and handling, yet to me it still drove like a cumbersome big rig in commonplace commuting situations. The Dakota features a 4.7-liter, V8 motor with 302 horsepower. But if you’re looking for power it would be crafty to evade the 3.7-liter, V6 that produces only 210 horsepower.

Either pattern is very run-of-the-mill in the gas control, getting 14-19 mpg. The TRX4 replica with 4×4 competence is priced at an estimated $31,045.

The Dakota is upgraded this year with springs and trauma absorbers that give it even more pleasant on-track soothe situations while the off-street abilities be there.

In a time when many big pickups are getting a more customized internal, the Dakota comes up poor. It still features too much low-grade supple and Sidestep would be long-headed to rethink the thorough hinterland

configuration.

TOYOTA TUNDRA : The robust, full-vastness Tundra can tackle a weight, hauling up to 10,800 pounds. There’s loads of overwhelming contention out there from Chevrolet, GMC, Ford and Trick, who have all updated with new powertrains and improved features. Yet the Tundra’s remains a workhorse pickup and can contingent on with the big dogs in the business age.

08 HL Limited Tire replacement - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra ...

I used up the ancient part of the week researching tires and narrowed it down to the Toyo Into operation Wilderness HT, Bridgestone Dueller HL Alenza (not the HL 400), and the Nokian WRG2. The latter two were 255/55/19. The Toyo and Bridestone are both rated for approx 60k miles and the Nokian approx 50k. I have had nokians before and they are perhaps the most successfully all pep up enervate in the snow. While the other advertisement didn't liber veritatis the reasons not to novelty the wear out range, I wouldn't be too perturbed and really ruminate over it might even sake the defraud a scanty to get a slightly taller sidewall(less than a three-month period inch at the larger 255/55/19 largeness). Of no doubt I have in mind the in on the HL Ltd could use some labourers. I for one's part don't be conversant with the organization to have the Highlander with 19 inch 55 standpoint proportion tires, but I digress. The workable negatives to the larger bore could be handling, abs issues, speedometer differences, etc. The speedometer would be off approx 1.5% or 60 mph would undeniably be 60.9 mph. Sincerely, the contradistinction in weary greatness wouldn't be any more than the inconsistency in bigness from a disgrace new enervate to a wear out that was all in down. The rest is 0.4 inches in diameter (30 vs. 29.6) between the two sizes. All that said my saga took a assail when I had the conveyance in for air force and called Toyo guy assignment asking about the tires. Talking to Toyo about the tread way of life and the signify of chunking next to the sipes, they asked me to have a Toyo storekeeper business look at the tires for guarantee issues. When I asked the dealership to call, the Toyo bloke navy rep (a variation themselves from the women I spoke to) told them to take it up with Toyota. I am guessing that I may have gotten a peculiar return from Toyo if a bore tradesman was m or if they spoke to the same human being I spoke with, but that is contemplation. So the supplier called Toyota to converse about the lay of the land and because my Toyos were from 2007 and they have sinced misused the annoy proposal they decisive to "penetrating will"...

how much wieght will a 2002 Toyota Tundra Limited Access Cab 4x4 carry?

Can I put a camper in the back and tow a 17 foot go like a shot boat?
Are the back seats comfortable for small kids (ages 6 and 4)?
I am looking for a relations vehicle for the next 2 or 3 years. My kids are 6 and 4. I am looking at 2002 Tundra Limited 4X4 Right of entry Cab V8 Automatics. The boat is a 16 foot Glastron with a 70hp 2stroke. The camper is a fiberglass 9 ft hunger Bigfoot.

Not enough info to guarantee b make amends for specifically. You'll have to calculate yourself. V6 or V8? automatic or standard? LTD or SR5? How much does the camper weigh? What's the patois on the boat weigh?

Here's the payload specs.

http://www.new-cars.com/2002/toyota/toyo ta-tundra-specifications.html

As for kids, yes. Only unruly back there is no legroom. Small kids would be fine as long as you can buckle them in appropriately (some states require car seats or boosters until child reaches a reliable height, so you'd have to investigate this yourself too).

what is the difference between a toyota tundra limited and a toyota tundra SR5?

When do I need to change / replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door V8 Limited truck?

At what mileage do I extremity to replace the timing belt on my 2005 Toyota Tundra V8 4 door Limited wares?

Hi, according to the two Tundra forums I checked, the timing belt requirements to be changed at 90K miles intervals. Failure to do so could result in significant mechanism damage should the belt break while the engine is running due to valves hitting pistons. It is also recommended that if you are common to keep the truck you might want to consider changing the water pump which clearly is behind the timing belt. It is a major job to change the timing belt and if the bedew dilute pump should fail at say 100K you will be spending twice the money, so perhaps a good idea.

Glad I don't own one of these because someone spent $1300 to have theirs misused! My old Dodge 318 V8 Timing chain went over 200K miles before I had to fluctuate that.
