Lincoln did extend this option on Town Cars back in 1988 so there are some available. So is it possible to build/position one on a car that doesn't have one? If so how much would it cost?

I think it might be possible I have seen a new Chrysler 300C and the proprietor turned it into a convertible

What Cars are Similar to the 1988 Lincoln Town Car?

I don't car about horsepower, mpg, etc. I'm talking about exteriors. I infatuation the 1988 and 1989 Lincoln Town Cars, but they are really big (too long).

What cars look alike resemble, but are more compact? Are there any 4-door coupes that resemble the 1988 or 1989 Lincoln Town Car?

I'm looking for something that's the gauge of a 1982 Plymouth Reliant, but that looks like a 1988 or 1989 Lincoln Town Car.

Big old equitable luxury cars. Those are awesome.

If you think the 1988 town car is big, you should see the 1977-1979 town car. It is correspond to (although much prettier, in my opinion) and 19' 5" long vs 18' 3" for the 1988. The older car also weighs 1300 pounds more, has a foot or so more hidden room, and about 1.5 times the engine of the 1988.

As to a small car with square unmixed styling queues, there are a lot, but most would be a stretch to say the styling is like the 80's town car. Something like a mid 1980's chrysler 5th drive or dodge diplomat would be the closest, I think, but that would still be bigger than the reliant by two feet or so. Something like a 1985-87 chrysler new yorker would be smaller and a very warm-hearted car if in good shape, but it isn't quite as straight and flat as the town car.

Cadillac tried it's rapidly at smaller cars with the cimeron, but that sucked.

For styling in a smaller unite, the 5th avenue is your best bet. For a smaller but still somewhat squared off car, the mid 80's New Yorker would be my recomendation. Besides, the cars talk to you. Who doesn't like that?

What type of refrigerant does a 1992 Lincoln town car use?

I have a squeaky end 1992 Town Car Cartier and want to recharge the AC but am told it may contain R-12 which would be short of a costly retrofit to R134A. Others have told me that some Lincoln's in late 1992 did come with R-134A. Any thoughts on which strain would be more likely to be the case and if necessary, how expensive would a retrofit from R-12 to R-134A be? Gratefulness's!

Some manufacturers familiar R-12 up through the 1993 model years, and switched to R-134 with the 1994 models. The EPA barred the production of R-12 ( Freon ) in the US effective January 1, 1996. More than disposed to your car was built to use R-134a refrigerant though. If it used R-12 originally though and has been influenced to use the R-134a refrigerant, the attachment points where you hook up the hoses to recharge the A/C system will have also been distorted. Different fittings for using R-12 vs R-134a. If the cars A/C system has been serviced and been functioning over the years I am established it has probably been converted over to R-134a at some time if it didn't come that way. If not, the tariff of the conversion is definitely cheaper than trying to obtain R-12 or compare favourably with replacement gas on the market. It has gotten very expensive, but it is still available in some places.
