How do I check/change the transmission fluid on my 2000 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas?

I have a 2000 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas and would like to be acquainted with how to check the transmission fluid if it needs to be changed and how to add more if necessary.

Start machine, keeping transmission in park. Open the hood.

Near the back of your appliance bay (close to the bottom of your windshield) should be a dipstick, probably with a red handle. This is your transmission watery dipstick. You may or may not have to flip the handle up to pull it out of it's tube.

Pull out the dipstick, a stone's throw from the end of it should be some hashmarked areas with "Full" and "Add". If it's at or close-by full, leave it alone. If it's just below full, and your engine hasn't warmed up yet, leave it alone. If it's at Add, look into your owners instructions to see what kind of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) your Jag requires. Purchase it at your specific auto parts store or dealership, along with a small funnell.

Again, with the appliance running and transmission in park, remove your transmission dipstick, ad the funnell, and SLOWLY add the correct ATF. Maybe a fourth of a quart between inserting the dipstick all the way in and examination the level. When it's within the "full" zone, close it all up, and pat yourself on the back for having done something that most Jaguar owners absolutely leave to their butlers to do.

Should i trade in 2004 Jaguar XJ for Phaeton?

I bought a 2004 Jaguar XJ (first year of this manifestation) pre owned in early 2007 at the depreciated value , it has given me nothing but issues, extraordinarily with its taillights, which are supposed to last for a long time.

I like large sedans. So, Iwas reasoning about trading it in for the large Volkswagen Phaeton, you can get very good deals on them since they didn't won over well.

Maybe it was my fault for buying a model from the first year it came out, but it is a warm car in a good price range and so is the Pheaton.

So if anyone has experience or know enough about the Phaeton, can you give me some par as to what I can do. Some people have suggested just trading it in for a new Altima, but i don't like those. An they rate pretty much the same with the depreciated value.

If you're looking for a good full size sedan with lots of guts, undisturbed, nice looking, good mileage, etc consider a 1 or 2 year old Avalon. They're offensively a Lexus ES350 without all the glitz. You can find them for around $24K used with about 20,ooo miles or less. Whatever you do, you should tip that Jag. Riding the bus is more dependable

Does anyone be versed the song used in the Jaguar XJ holiday commercial. The ad is for the 2006 holiday mature and shows that Blue Tooth, Ipod and all this other stuff come with the Jag for a meagre time only...

I have looked everywhere but I can not find anything on the music. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
